| Meet Nuala - she is in desperate need of surgery. Please help if you can. thank you! | |||||

Nuala and her brother, who were only six months old, lived with a couple in Las Vegas. One day the couple had a fight and to "get even" with his girlfriend he took the two kittens and tortured them, he tortured the little boy to death and tortured Nuala to the point of blindness. He took off and left Nuala with the girlfriend who let Nuala lie in a coma for three days with no medical care. A rescuer found out about Nuala and took her from the girlfriend, stupidly after Nuala recovered (now blind) she gave her back to the girlfriend who originally had her. The girlfriend had moved into a place with a roommate and shortly after she got Nuala back she was arrested and thrown in jail, the roommate who didn't want Nuala tossed her out into the street. Once again the original rescuer found out and went to pick up Nuala finding her hiding under a car in 110 degree weather starving and dying of dehydration. She took her and got her healthy and was trying to find her another home when a different rescuer took control of Nuala promising to give her a great home and any medical care she needed. The original rescuer went over to check on Nuala one day and found out that the new home had locked her in a tiny crate and had given her no medical care at all. That's when they found Milo's Sanctuary, hearing that we took "special needs" cats, when we heard Nuala's story we agreed to take her on the spot. She arrived late one Saturday night, a very kind woman offered to transport her from Las Vegas to us. We opened the carrier and Nuala stepped out into the bathroom and after checking the place out, sniffing every corner, she found a big soft cat bed and settled down immediately purring and making biscuits. Nuala is the kindest and most gentle cat we've ever met, she adores everyone and even though she's blind she trusts everyone she meets, she loves her belly rubbed and will roll over to make sure you know that and as you scratch her cream coloured tummy she makes little biscuits in the air. She's often found her curled up with another of the kitties or if there is a human lap avaialable, blind or not she finds her way into it and then slowly into your arms nuzzling your chin and giving kisses. Unfortunately because of Nuala's earlier tragedies she is going to need surgery to have the one eye removed and we're hoping that through the generosity of all of you that we can get her the surgery and after care she will require. She deserves a second chance at a happy healthy and long life surrounded by love and kindness and because of people like you she will get her chance. PLEASE feel free to send this to anyone and everyone you know - ALSO we beg you all to contact your public representatives and voice your opinions about having the laws changed to protect animals like Nuala (remember every serial killer has started with animal torture). The laws now consider animals "property" and crimes such as what Nuala suffered is considered a "misdeamenor" and the punishment is rarely more than a slap on the wrist and a ticket if any punishment is given out at all. Any donation is greatly appreciated, please just note on the donation that it is for Nuala's medical and after care. You can either mail it to us at: Milo's Sanctuary, Inc. PO Box 2376 Gardena, CA 90247-0376 Or visit our website at http://www.milossanctuary.org and donate through paypal. Remember all donations are tax-deductible. Thank you and blessings to you all. You can also donate through us via PayPal, send it to shop@socalpetshop.com and we will pay the payPal fees and send it on to Milo's. Please make a noe in the payment that it is for Milo's Sanctuary. |
